It feels MUCH better compared to the original. I always thought that the original one felt like holding a plastic russian doll.

The one from Manuel is a very high quality piece, the materials and craftsmanship are top notch.

One very important thing to keep in mind is that you will need to cut the shifter approx 20mm so that the **** stays at the oem height. I never saw this as a problem since there is NO WAY I'll install the original back on. I also had to do other adjustments to the fitment due to being the 997 Guinea pig, but since Tom got his, the only modification that has to be done is to cut the shifter and use something to secure the boot to the bottom of the aluminum shaft. I used safety wire and it worked perfectly.

I'll send you a PM with Manuel's personal email.

It was a commercial for Tootsie Pops back in the 70s. The hook was, “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop”. So the cartoon characters ask a wise owl who takes two licks and then bites into it to get to the tootsie roll center, concluding, “Three licks”. And with that obscure reference, I wish I could forget half the things I remember!

Christ! In the 70s I was trying to figure out how many girls I could fit into one 24 hour period so Tootsie Roll commercials were virtually non existent for me. Come to think of it that's still what I'm trying to do at 70! I was better at it at 30!

Unlike you Tim I wish I could remember half the things I forget!

All the best my friend!

Hey Tom ... I sent you a further PM about the actual size of your shifter lever - Alejandro found his was 16.25mm (not the 16.5mm spec that Manuel uses)?

Doug...I honestly don't think it matters as Manny used his spec with me and all was good. From what the Porsche tech said to me it seemed like he could make just about anything fit. You're in the ballpark with either measurement though.
