Add music streaming for $18
Here's a neat solution that literally took minutes to set up. Nulaxy Bluetooth receiver ($17.99, Amazon) needs no wires and fits like a glove in the console compartment. I think the sound quality is excellent. Haven't had it long enough to comment on its battery life, but if needed on a trip you can charge it in the car with the supplied mini-USB cable. Neat device.https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...b9cd9da8dc.jpg
Device, connect to car with pin or the wire. Mini-USB cable for charging the battery. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...cfe88fedb7.jpg Plug into AUX port using the pin and switch power on for pairing. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...73e4534626.jpg AUX Source selected, play whatever you want. Music is interrupted if call comes in. |
Can you pair it for audio playback only and still pair your phone via the car's BT connection?
|
Yes, phone pairs to car and this device at same time. Incoming or outgoing call will preempt music while call is connected. Music resumes when call over.

That’s a good idea! What is the name of the iPhone cradle you’re using there to position it so close to navigation screen? |
This looks like the solution I've been passively looking for. Thanks for sharing 8)

I had something similar. Worked fine, but control is through the phone, not the PCM or steering wheel controls. You can get the Tune2Air (Bovee 1000), but it’s a lot more expensive (~$90), and you need the iPod cable. But, it does allow you to control music via PCM/steering wheel controls. |
Thanks for this. So you can simply run a usb cable to keep it charged? Also, what is the phone mount and how is it attached?

Yes, as I mentioned in opening post you could charge the device in car using the supplied mini-USB cable. I'm taking the car on a multi-day trip next month so will report back on battery life. I bought the phone mount from t-design9 (http://t-design9.com/). It's a bit dear at $75, but is well made and works well. The mount swivels as well so you can turn it if desired.

Had a tune 2 air on my R8, wasn't perfect but it did what I needed it to do. |
I got the below and it's working with great success. Can pair phone for telephone for calls as well as use this gizmo for streaming music. Took a little while to arrive from China, but I'm satisfied with it.
Total Cost = <$3.00 |
I wish that there was an easy solution for those of us that do not have a USB port or a 3.5mm plug |
Thank you for the tip
