Default Oil pressure transducer?

Guys, I'm new to the site (and I new owner) but really appreciate the knowledge and experience that resides here.
My 997.2 (2010 C4S Cabriolet) has an issue with oil pressure; when checked on two different diagnostics readers it's providing a reading of 154 on the 0-100% scale. I had a shop put it on the lift, drain a half liter and check it; still 154. The 'Check Oil Pressure' feature in the instrument cluster also shows at the very top, above the 'Full' range. Other engines I'm familiar with usually have an oil pressure transducer that send an analog or digital signal; does this engine have a transducer (or another term for what may not be giving a good signal)?
It's a CPO car so it's got dealer warranty but I'd like to know if anyone's seen this and what the correct terminology/nomenclature may be.
Thanks in advance
