Default Front license plate screws

Anyone know what screw size to use for the front plate on an OEM bracket? Same the rear or the self-taping type?

Thanks!

Don’t do that! Buy a license plate holder/bracket that uses the tow hook mount....that way you won’t have to deface the bumper.

Had the US Millworks on my last 997, but consider that a permanent temporary solution, if that makes sense. Plus I was fearful of someone twisting it off. Just picked up a 997 and had the front plate bracket drilled in.

you can also drill the oem licence plate cover into the bumper from the bottom of the cover and the bottom of the bumper. you would just have to shave off a piece from the licence plate bracket (bottom - completely invisible when mounted) and drill the bracket into the bumper at 4 spots under the centre duct area (pre-drill the holes first - i did for for stability).

this way you get oem placement with the nice looking symmetrical aesthetic and on those RARE photoshoot days you can just remove the plate... all holes are invisible underneath the bumper face.

Sounds interesting.

If you get a chance, could you post a photo of the mounted bracket & plate from underneath, so we can see the 4 screws going into the bumper from below?

Thanks.

Karl.

What i did up in Washington where the are real picky about the front plate is to trim the top and bottom of the plate to fit back against the difuser. You can see all the info, and from a distance is simply looks like a normal license plate. Have not been stopped yet. I'd attach a pick but am about 2500 miles away from the car.
