What's the easiest way to replace the left cooling fan?
I need to replace the left fan on my 997.2 TTS. Should I pull the bumper, or can I do it by pulling the fender liner? Thanks in advance!

You have to pull the bumper. The fan is in front of the condenser which is in front of the radiator and even if there was room the bumper could be removed and installed 10 times faster than going through the wheel well.

That's interesting- in my car the cooling fans are on the wheel well side. It's condenser-radiator-fan.

Fans are toward the rear.
I'm not sure if it possible without removing the bumper, but, the fender liners need to come out to remove the bumper anyways. You can always try going at it from the wheel well area and there's no wasted effort if you have to pull the bumper. |
I'm new to Porsche but have looked at a lot of DIY videos. Every one shows condenser>radiator>fan front to back. If it were me I'd pull the bumper to clean both sides of road debris along with the fan replacement.

Sorry you’re correct that the fan is at the rear. I’ve changed my radiators and would still pull the bumper.
