$525 for new battery at dealership
#31
I'm never one for doing anything on my car. But when the battery went out on my GTS, I read up on the swap out procedure on this forum, headed over to Walmart, and put the new battery in myself. It was actually pretty easy to do. No way you should be paying anyone near $400-500 for a new battery. That's just highway robbery.

I have bought batteries DOA of the shelf, but I also have a 15 year old original battery in my John Deere lawn tractor that gets no special treatment. It sits for 4-5 months each winter w/o a tender and kicks off every year so far. Even so, when it goes, I won't likely by a JD branded replacement.

Sounds like PM. Autozone will do it for you, and e battery is only 170, and they’ll send you a 25 gift card

Cayenne batteries last so long because of where they're located (under the driver's seat). They are in a more protected and more temperate location. It's not uncommon for a Cayenne battery to last twice as long as a normal one. I changed the original in my 09 Turbo S in 2016 (had the date code sticker on it).

It's a super easy job -- Costco or Walmart are good places to buy a battery as their warranties seem to be solid ( I bought one from Costco - here in Canada with an 84 month warranty - and I think 3 years ? free replacement with no pro rating ).
There is great info on Rennlist on how to change it too. -- it's worth doing yourself!
