I have a friend that is looking for a 911 in a particular color and body style. I can’t find any Minichamps, etc professional metal model makers that fit the bill. Does anyone know of someone that could build a model (metal or more likely plastic) that could be to custom specs?

I do not know of anyone that custom makes them, however...

I collect 1:18 scale 911s and I have over 120 of them from various years and I know more about what is available out there than I probably should. Let me know what style and color 911 he is looking for and I can let you know if I have seen anything like that in my searches. Feel free to PM if you don't want to post it here.

No affiliation and haven’t had any personal experience with them, but I follow them on Instagram and their work is fantastic. Planning to use them in the future.

I've seen the 997.2 Targa in Black and 997.1 Targa in Nordic Gold but neither in red. I think I have seen a 997.2 Carrera S in red.

Thanks Blu311! Where do you see these models when you run across them? Collectors shows? I watch various things on the net, but haven't seen a 997.2 Targa of any color.

Thanks ATSR, I went out to the site you suggested (http://modelcarworkshop.nl/). Wow! Get ready. Not inexpensive. Over 1,000 Euros! A little much for me to have something for my office bookshelf.

Still looking though. Hopefully, something will fall in my lap that I won't have to hide from my bride due the "investment".

I editted my post above, looks like my Nordic Gold Targa is a 997.1 but my Black Targa is a 997.2, see pics below. The car in my avatar pic to the left is a Silver 997.2. I also have a 997.2 GT3 and a 997.2 Turbo. I just did a quick search and cant find the 997.2 Red Carrera S that I thought I saw... I'll let you know if I come accross anything. The brand that has the most 997.2 models is NOREV and most of my models were purchased on Ebay. If you cant find it via google or ebay, it might not exist unless its a one-off.

The targas are not very prevalent out there. There is the Nordic, black, red and 996 in blue. I have been looking for the 997.1 in a dark color but want a blue (I know I won't find lapis) but haven't really found anything.

Minichamps does have a custom division - I have my current fleet being made now all in 1:43 though. I recall they do 1:18 too but it is not inexpensive.
