Sorry for the basic questions but having a challenge trying to search for these answers.
I used Plastidip to black out the emblem on my metallic meteor gray 2012 Cayenne S. It’s super simple as you simply spray it onto your existing emblem, so there’s no need to remove and replace anything. It’s literally a plastic coating that wears really well but which you can easily remove with absolutely no damage to paint or emblems. It requires multiple coats, then you simply peel it away from the body while it sticks to the emblem/badge. I posted up my before/during/after pics on the following thread (my post is #7) where there were a bunch of other folks who were doing the same. In fact, the original poster started this thread showing his blacked out Carerra and ref S emblems using Plastidip:

I’m a big fan as it cost only about $8 a can, takes about an hour, and is totally reversible. I may actually end up Plastidipping the S red on my black 2010 4S Cab rather than buying a new one which I would need to remove and replace. Take a look at You Tube as there are a zillion videos showing how easy it is...

looks great ! - when doing the red S one has to make sure the other badging also requires stark contrast with the color of the car itself.

I agree. I have a meteor gray and a flat black "Carrera" helped the red S

I agree with this. Make the carrera black then the S will stand out as red.
