Do you drive in snow?

Sure do... my winter wheel set on my 2010 4S Cab is Pirelli Sottozero’s wrapped around 19” Turbo rims (which looks a LOT like 74911Guy’s set up!):
And I saw this Ferrari driver on the way home today with his car similarly filthy

It’s not the snow and ice, it’s the salt and grit that goes on the roads in Scotland that’s causes corrosion to the suspension and under car parts. My 911 stays in the garage from Nov to March. I have an A4 Quattro Avant V6 3.2 with snow tyres if needed, it’s great fun.

they are amazing! By the way bought them in the States! You can pull or push with all the strength, no movement whatsoever!
but if you just lift with a finger an edge they take off! Need only a minute to install or remove.
when driving I check them once in a while....quick look if they hold the air! Otherwise they release a bit the vacum button!
I build it myself! Bought the seasuckers and attached a common Thule ski rack! The bottom one has a secure cable that goes inside the engine hood.
when installed I remove the power to the rear spoiler so it stays down! The only pain is every time you cross 120 km/h you get the spoiler malfunction warning.
Ps. The 997 is absolutely a great machine on the snow! Lots lots of traction! Amazing handling! Very fair

I think I would skip the security cable. Imagine the damage to your car with that ski rack banging and dragging from the road to your car! Ha, of course then you have to deal with the potential issue of it hitting the car (cars) behind you, but at least you preserve the value of your own car! Just thinking out loud.

Really? You can't be serious! Screwing those behind you to preserve your car?

I rarely even drive my 911 in the rain. I am someone who believes in the Proper Tool for every job. I have enough cars where I can use a proper 4WD SUV to handle snow duty. If I can't have fun in the 911, I don't bother driving it. Can a 911 do fairly well in the snow? Yep, much better than people thing, but why bother when you can own a much cheaper car that does a much better job and not put the 911 at risk of any damage or road debris?

A couple of more feet of powder fell over the weekend. Going up tomorrow. Will post update with any more damage I pick up. Woo-hoo!
