Just another DME over rev thread
Finally was able to run a DME report on my new to me 997.1 2007 cab. It was a two owner clean car with 55k miles, six speed manual.
At 1633 hours (probably 10 of which are mine, 300+ miles of use):
Range 1 23122/1571 hours
Range 2 260/1494 hours
Range 3 20/1493 hours
Range 4 0
Range 5 0
Range 6 0
While not perfect, it has been 140+/- hours since the Range 2/3 hit and 62 hours since the Range 1 hit.
Done with Foxwell NT 520. Very easy to use and get info.

When I purchased my 2007 997S this past summer the DME showed 1 over rev in #5 & #6 at 97 hours. Car currently has 1900 hours/55K miles.
I posted the results to the RL Brain Trust on this forum and got positive feedback not to worry about it so I bought the car.
Runs great and smoothest engine perfomance of all 3 of my 997's

My longtime Indy Akers Porsche said the same thing. They see this occasionally and have even seen several over revs in #6 at 10-20 hours on some newer models
Apparently there can be faulty signals sent to the computer for something simple like disconnecting battery, shorting battery or ignition wire when doing the battery wire harness change out which has been an issue with the 997 causing slow starts
I posted the results to the RL Brain Trust on this forum and got positive feedback not to worry about it so I bought the car.

I also had several 5 and 6 ignitions near the 100 hr mark or so....just turned 61k miles and UOA looking fine. The consensus seems to be if something were going to tank the engine so long ago it would have done so, which makes sense to me.

That looks like a virgin next to my report! Enjoy and give it the beans to redline at least 10x's every time you drive it

I just purchased a 2011 997.2 last month. I did a rev report and it had 260 in range 1 and 10 in range 2 at 1400 hours. Car has full documentation from new. Turns out the dealer replaced high pressure DFI (CPO) under warranty at the exact time. (back calculating from current mileage) Looks like dealer test drive put the numbers on the board. I guess this makes it a genuine Porsche service procedure. It did test the delivery of the new fuel pump!
