Default Price Check on 997.2 C4S

Hello,

Looking to purchase a car out of state and looking for your input. Already have the car locked down with a deposit and just pending a PPI which is getting done later today by a mobile PPI service.

From the pictures i have seen the car cosmetically is in GOOD condition. Carfax showing all maintenance records up until 30k but after that not much else. Car currently sits at 66k miles. Given from the condition the car is in, i will assume that the car did NOT have the 60k service done for PDK etc..

From pictures i can tell that the car has IPD plenum, Ducktail spoiler, Sport Design steering wheel in alcantara and aftermarket wheels

Sport buckets are in fair condition. Passenger side looks good, but the driver side looks a little worn out with some leather cracks and left side bottom bolster stitching worn down.

Also PDK shifter **** would need to be changed out as it is really worn out. Looks like $300 at suncoast..

What do you think is a fair price to pay for such car?

Thank you

$39,999.00 is a good price if PPI checks out ok
Very nice build.
Bucket seats is not common option.

Good luck!

At that mileage it may need to have filters, spark plugs, brake fluid flush and fill, maybe pads and rotors, how old are the tires and things like that. Good price but you might be looking at 4 or 5 k to get it up to date on all needed consumables and services. Do you want OEM wheels again or better aftermarket? forged HRE, Forgeline, BBS, things like that...or less and go cast Oz.

Debated this car...

Door panels looked worn, as well as a front right impact on the carfax. Wheels were curbed and not having a history why all the modifications were done scared me off.

Seats were quite nice to have though. They weren't willing to budge on price. After fees, taxes, repairs, you're probably in the high 40s. Decent, but still questionable because of the accident history and undocumented mods.

its a 09 launch edition, meteor gray, sport seats(very uncomfortable) . Not that its bad but it could have had alot of abuse from a dealer doing alot of demo driving, an enthusiastic buyer pushing it. I know you can find some safer cars to buy

You guys are nuts. This car is priced to sell.

So long as the PPI checks out, you should feel good about paying the asking price. If you can negotiate anything off this price, as you should absolutely try, that would just be the cherry on top.

The seats alone can be resold for $5K+ and used to fund the purchase of nice OEM wheels and a pair of mint sport seats. Just because the maintenance wasn't performed at Porsche doesn't mean the car was not serviced at all for the past 36K miles.

I purchased a 2010 CPO C2S with 60K miles this year for $46K. It was the cheapest CPO C2S in the country by $9K at the time. And that was a smokin' deal.

I would have totally purchased this car if I was still in the market...on second thought...let me know if you're going to pass this deal.

To give you a data point, I looked at a launch edition last week that had 29k miles, and they are currently asking $61k. I think that the $40k price would be a good price to pay for this car, just considering the mileage and mods, that it doesn't sound that you like. If you can get it cheaper than asking, then that is good too, obviously.

Opinions vary on that.
AND: If you don't like them you can easily get a pair of "normal" seats and sell the sports buckets for a lot of money
pristine condition seems to fetch $7k ~ $8k for the pair
not sure how much you get for worn, but you won't believe what a difference a bit of black shoe polish makes

i'd say the scary part is the lack of service history for the last 30k miles

I also checked this car out but I want a manual. I almost drove down there to take a look. I am curious to see how it turns out. Overall I think this has the potential for a good deal. Let us know.

I’m thinking of selling my 09 C4S as I’ve found some vacation property I’m interested in. It’s Balsalt black with 41k miles. Six speed with sports chrono, navigation, XM radio, Bose, self dimming mirrors, and sport carerra wheels and BT. The 30 and 40 k services were done at porsche of Tyson’s. Had new battery installed too. Mods are fabspeed X pipe, numeric shifter, BMC filters, and FVD tune. Sand beige interior with coco mats in black and beige. Nice car and runs great, needs nothing for many miles of fun. The Carmax warranty transfers I think, two more years or to 70k miles. I have to check that. Price would be about 56k. Dealer would price it over 60, least here in DC region. PM me if your interested.

Preference issue but couldn't disagree more. Takes a little getting used to getting in and out of but once you're seated, the buckets aren't just comfortable but add a connection with the car that has to be experienced to appreciate. I wouldn't have a 997 without them. And as others have said, if they're not for you, put them up for sale in the marketplace and they'll fly out the door for at least $5K or more likely $6K or $7K if in good condition.
