Default Outside Temperature Sensor Replacement

My outside temperature digital readout has gone out. It reads outside temps reasonably well up to 90 degrees. When the outside temp passes 90 degrees, the readout jumps to 120 degrees, which is in error.

Where is the external temperature located and how difficult is it to change out?

It is a plastic covered post located near the passenger side radiator.
