Dang these ars are expensive
so car running funny. Had dealer pick it up and check. Also mentioned that window didn't Always go up. Can't find any problems but found low horn bad and regulator and motor bad in the windowfor a total of $1600. He asked me what I wanted to do.
Best part of day was saying it's CPO. New parts please. Call me when it is done.
For reference I just replaced power steering rack, power steering pump, water pump, sway bar and bushings, front axle, and an oil and transmission fluid change on my Grand Prix for...wait for it...$700 for all the parts. I did the labor. But Jesus are these cars expensive.

Sounds like not much maintenance done prior to your entry on the scene. Did you get your copy of the sheet used for the CPO checks? If not I would make it a point to do so. Used car Mgr probably source to this document

I think the low horn is right behind the blinker fluid fill hole. It's $250 to fix it. I really don't know and don't care since it is CPO. I probably should. But the tech pressed the horn and noticed the low horn was out? Maybe they just need to put it back in? Thankfullt when I get the car back I will have a fully functioning low and high horn.

We have 2 horn levels? How do you engage one over the other
Actually never used the horn. Guess I should check that. I'm in India right now and not sure what these guys would do with out a horn.

Hi and lo honk in sync. When one goes out, the sound change is very obvious.

There are 2 horns that activate simultaneously - 1 that has a higher tone (not louder) and one that has a lower tone. Mixed together they make the sound of the horn. When the low tone one goes out the horn sounds very wimpy.

Porsche only has high and low horns ?
Only high and low ? I've always felt the Porsche horn is missing a midrange tone. 👍
Actually i I don't think I've heard my own horn. I'm not a honker and when I get the impulse I think I just press the air bag ! Haha.

Every Porsche that I've ever owned has had horn failure. I just had the low-tone horn replaced under warranty in my 991.

My '09 had the low horn fail while under CPO. You certainly know it when it happens--you'll be pi$$ed off in traffic, go to blast someone with the horn and all that comes out is a wimpy tone that is almost comical.
But to address the OP's point, yes, the price to maintain these cars can be astronomical--especially if you get all of your service done at the dealer and at worst, if you happen to have a particularly greedy dealer service department.
Obviously, comparing service prices to a cookie-cutter domestic car is apples to oranges. But, even if you have had other luxury or near-luxury cars for years (Lexus, BMW, etc.) and have gotten used to the luxury car tax, the service and parts prices for these cars can still be a shock.

I love blowing my horn......oh wait , or is it having my horn blown? And I thought I only had one horn......man, another great reason to own a 911.
Wow... a $1600 horn job? That must be some plastic surgery. But you should never let the high horn go into failure.

If I couldn't do most of this work myself it would be a lot harder for me to afford these cars.
