Best practices bodyseal rubber care?

Dammit Edgy, I was all fired up to make a joke about your talcum powder suggestion and then you had to make that disclaimer at the end of your post to lock me out.

Does the Shin Etsu Grease attract dust? I believe I read that the nextzett 'Gummi Pflege Stift' Rubber Care Stick will not attract dust.

When I bought mine the rear and passenger window trim was all oxidized and spotted. Likely from the prior owner taking it through a car wash. I actually found just a damp rag with some heavy pressure removed the top layer of black gunk and made them look new again. I then used that gummy phlegm everyone talks about :-)

I second the shinetsu grease that is available at your local Honda dealer. I've been using it for over 5 years on all my vehicles.
It was recommended to me while I was looking for a solution to take care of my front roof panel leak on my Jeep wrangler. It worked immediately and I was sold. Best part is that it does the job real well and is absolutely not greasy.... I used it on all my seals at my yearly oil change/ maintenance and it never leaked again

I just did this today and looks and feels so much better.
How often are you applying? I was thinking after every detail so maybe once or twice a year?
Also, can you get this on the paint without issue. I was fairly sloppy with the application and then just rubbed it off with a cloth.

I'm quite certain it doesn't affect the paint. You could maybe do it in the spring and fall, but I always did mine once a year with the oil change.

I'll add one more for Shin-Etsu. Excellent for the seals and also the windscreen cowl panel.

I was warned about putting any silicone lube near cars, even overspray floating in the air can settle on your car. The trouble comes when attempting to repaint any part of the car, for whatever reason.
Look up "Fish Eyes" as paint defect....
