997.2 Production Numbers
I was at a car show this weekend in Indiana. I have a 2012 C4S Coupe (Black). I was telling a gentleman that my car was 1 of 115 based on the information I have found in the forums here. This doesn't include color, only model.
He had a 2011 Targa 4S (Black). He proceeded to tell me he could "one up" me and that his car was 1 of 62. The data I have found says his car is 1 of 379.
Could anyone point me to where he is coming up with his statistic?

There were over 9000 C4S 997.2s made. Where are you getting your number?

Every 911 is a bespoke automobile. No two are the same.

Here is where I got my numbers. I was basing it on model year and model. If the thread above is correct, I was correct.

Tacoma - I believe your numbers are correct. The table on production numbers comes from Adrian Streather's book "
The Essential 997 Companion" and indeed it shows 115 2012 C4S were produced. The reason for the low number is that Porsche was converting over to 991 production . The other fellow may have one of 62 if he includes color or other options.

Edit: I got curious and pulled out my copy of 997 Essential Companion.
Firstly, it does say model year in the header but that's a bad way to distinguish because model year and production year are different in the US but European countries they are the same year.
On page 13 of the book, the author distinguished 2004 as the first 'model year' which is the euro designation. So in this case, model year and production year are the same year.
If you know your production year you can be more accurate in finding out how many C4Ss were produced that year. In the case of your 2011 US model assuming it was produced in 2010, looking at the missing page for 2010 from that thread there were 3167 Carrera 4Ss produced in 2010 and 9188 997.2 Carrera 4Ss produced in total throughout the model run.
The one thing to take into account and that is not described is that this may include prototypes and press cars. I say that because we know of 500 GT2RS numbered cars but this book says 510 were produced. And we know of 600 GT3RS 4.0 numbered cars but this book says 613 were produced. Also there were 250 Sport Classics but this says 256. The author makes no indication as to what the extra cars could be or why.
So take these numbers with that in mind.

this is production year. Not model year.
