Romove air vents close to windshield
Hi,
I have a 997.2 2009 with a buzzing noise (mainly noticable on rough roads) that seems to be caused by either the centre speaker grill or the two long air vents at the bottom of the windscreen. The noise disappear when is apply slight pressure on either the speaker grill or the air vent.
I have found instruction describing how to remove the speaker grill but I am not able to find any instructions decribing the procedure for removing the air vents.
Does anoyone of you know the procedure for this, pehaps it is not even possible withoyt removing the entire dash....?
Also, any experience sharing in solving rattle/buzzing noises in this area would be very much appreciated.

I found the instruction for the speaker grill here https://www.renntech.org/forums/topi...-grill-rattle/
As you can see, very simple but not possible to know without instruction.
I also suspected that the watch was causing the noise, so I temporary removed it and the noise is still there.

To remove the defroster vent sections, you first need to remove the center speaker cover (be careful of the sensor and wires), then remove the inner A-pillar trim as the defroster vent sections have a metal clip on each end that hooks on under the a-pillar trim. That's the only strange fastener - after that the other fasteners will release just by prying up with a trim tool. Maybe these pics of the panels out of the car will help you some.
