Default oil temp gauge faulty warning light

I did a search and not much on this topic...anyone ever replaced the oil temp gauge? I have driven about 100 miles and no apparent issues...oil pressure and engine temp shows just fine.

Trusted Indy said sometimes oil sender can get wet and when it dries light will go off. If not I need to replace. Looking like I will need to replace.

What kind of job is this?

Attached is a document from Pelican Parts that shows the location of all the sensors on the 996/997 motors, at least the .1 997s.
