Default Had a little fun with an M4 today

So I was driving spiritedly today and passed a slow moving M4. At the next bend, he came around fast and we both got on it. It was a pretty even start and we probably went from around 30-90ish. We were basically side by side with him just slightly moving ahead. I mean like 1/8 car length in that run. I have a simple 09 C2 pdk, and based on how linear his acceleration was, I'm sure his was a dct. I was very surprised that he didn't pull away. Porsche sure knows (or knew) how to get the most out of a modestly sized NA 6. I heart my car!

No doubt the BMW M4 is a much faster car than an 09 C2S.
From a 30-90ish for a car to walk away from you it would have to be significantly more power (serious power).
It would take a turbo or Corvette z06 to get that "walk away" visually aspect.

Yeah I was pretty surprised. Maybe he wasn't trying, but seems odd that he would have given it just enough throttle to keep pace. It was pretty brief... maybe he was in a higher gear. DCT doesn't downshift like PDK, or maybe he was just locked into 3rd gear with a manual. Who knows? Either way it made me feel like my car is pretty quick!

Also you don't have to be the tool boy racer in an M4, which is the best part of driving a Porsche. The only car tool boys i ever meet, ALL drive BMW. That brand is utter **** with its best days behind it.

Ha, had an experience similar to the OP's not that long ago. Side by side with an F82 M4 and we both punched it. The beemer left me for dead, but I'm pretty sure I was having more fun! In the end, I think that's what matters more. Plus my car is much prettier (or at least I think so). Whatever helps us sleep at night

Or maybe he wanted to go home alive also. Understanding that much power on a public road at times can become dangerous.

Soooo... I just watched a video of an M4 killing a 991S. He couldn't have been trying too hard. It felt good for a second tho. I'll just pretend that my little 3.6 can hang with the big boys!

I had a few runs with an XKR cab this weekend, its a buddy of mine. We lined up a few times and I kicked his *** everytime.
on the highway we raced again from a roll and the cars seemed dead even till silly speeds.

He left his traction control on for all the races but I doubt that would have saved him from the beatings.
Also, this is at a very high altitiude, 1,700 m (5,577 ft) NA vs Supercharged.
4S FTW.
