Road noise difference in 997s - is there any?
Curious to know if different trims of 997 have different road noise (mostly tire noise) or not? I am sure GT3 has least amount of sound damping, but what about differences between Carrera, Turbo and 997.1 vs. 997.2? Are they all essentially the same?

My question is if Porsche has treated their non-GT cars any different? Like if more sound deadening (add weight) was added to 997.2 or to Turbo models (more of a GT car)?

To me they all seem noisy, I drove a 4S targa and they guy who owned it complained of rattles in the glass that could not be fixed. Tires have a big influence on noise. But generally I have found all the 997's I have driven to be pretty loud, the 997.2 was the least noisy at first, but then you start "hearing" things.

I took a .2 ('09) base 6MT out for a test drive once, there was very noticeably less cabin noise than my .1 ('05) base 6MT. Not just less road noise, which could be attributed to different tires, but less wind noise, less engine sound and less noise going over bumps as well. The difference was remarkable, I was shocked.
