New to the 997 world... Thought I'd say hello!
So, with the prices of 997's being exceptionally good, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to grab one. I didnt bother with a low mile garage queen... I found a 6-Owner, 117k mile '05 Launch Edition Carrera S for a price I couldnt pass up. Sure, it needs some paint correction and a proper interior/trim cleaning and detailing (among other things like replacement engine mounts and a GT3 bumper that needs a respray) but honestly, its in better condition overall than I've seen on several other cars in the same price range with far fewer options. I'm happy!
It already has some lowering springs on the PASM suspension (not sure what brand yet but it sits nice and low and rides well), the GT3 bumper looks great even with some patina (isn't that what all the new kids say?), it's got some high flow cats and Fabspeed mufflers, and the PCCB's were removed at some point and replaced with Red's and steel rotors... and I'm ok with all of that. It was a late '04 sale car so it should be the early style IMS bearing (which I plan on upgrading even with 117k... nothing wrong with preventative maintenance). I'm in the process of removing all of the window tinting (I HATE dark tint) and I'm gonna toss on a set of 19x8.5" and 11" Fifteen52 Formula GT wheels on Toyo R888R tires (I might A/X it sometime but sticky tires are fun on the backroads up here too).
Just thought I'd say hello and post a couple pics from the day I drove her home from Raleigh, NC.
