Default The Verdict and Questions! Thanks Carlo

Carlo was nice enough to run over and check out this car for me - http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Porsche...ZZXjau&vxp=mtr

His impressions left me with a few questions....

2. He noticed the rear sway bar was non stock and is white. Any idea what brand this could be??

3. Carlo also noted the actuator arms for the blow off valves had been worked on.

Thanks for all the help on my quest for the right car - especially to Carlo for driving all the way to Staten Island

Thinking about it on the ride home I came to the conclusion that you are looking for a "mint" condition car. This car is very close to mint but not quite. It is still an excellent car but not exactly what you are looking for. Very close but not quite.

Thanks. It's not that I'm looking for it to be perfect, I just want it to be well maintained with nothing scary underneath

I believe the stock bar on X50 as pointed out to me a few weeks ago is .9 bar. That's what I saw on the X50 cab I drove.

The .9 I recently saw was at 4500 feet, not sure how much different at sea lvl it would be. I still wouldn't be scared of it being tuned. Can always reflash to stock or get a new tune.

I was in a very urban area so I am unsure if I got it fully opened up. I got it to 1.0 BAR but I am unsure if that was max and I not sure it had a tune. It was fast as hell and the fact that the blow off actuator arms had been worked on told me that there was some boost control work done.

Like I said earlier it is very very nice car. I am not sure if it is exactly what sgtpeper is looking for and since he is 2000 miles away it is tough call on whether he should fly out and personally walk it through a full PPI.

If I was in the market for X50 the only thing that would stop me from buying it would be the color but I am not as discerning as sgtpeper is. Potentially having a tune is not a negative to me.

I think the white sway bar is from this company. I know nothing about them.

a/p stuff is junk.

i think you mean wastegate arms not bov. if you do it could mean the oem arms were rusted and replaced OR the previous owner tightened them to manually get more boost instead of tuning for it. only way to know is to use a mityvac an see were they crack open at.

Yes waste gate arms, and that was my conclusion. There was some boost or rusted arm issue at some point.

Why is he ticked off? I even helped him out with an electrical issue he had with another car.
