Default Short term storing my 996TT

Hi all,
I'm new to this section but been a rennlister for a long time. I recently acquired a pristine example of a 996TT.

I don't plan on driving it much as I want to keep the miles low, but at the same time I don't want to put it up for long term storage. I do plan to sell the car when the time is right, to the right buyer.

It's actually on the FACTORY tires, believe it or not (in very good shape). I wonder if these add value to resale one day, or if I should take them off. The original owner had stored them well.

What other things should I do, such as a battery charger etc?

If there are any specific products you'd recommend, please share the link.

Thanks so much! Here's some pics of the car.

Thanks! 35,011 miles...

Kinda as an investment, kinda for fun just to see what happens. But mostly to trade or sell in the future when the time is right.

Besides a battery charger, use a little fuel stabilizer in the tank and try and drive it 20 miles or so about once a month. Periodically driving the car is best way to keep it in good mechanical shape.

I think saving the original tires is good idea so I would get another new set of wheels and tires and put the originals into storage.

I would recommend to change those tires. My 2003 Turbo had its original tires up until this spring. The difference was HUGE with new tires. It's actually dangerous driving on those old ones.

I thought about the value too, and decided that my life is far more valuable than some potential buyer down the road. I also decided to throw away my old ones but if you feel like it, keep them and put them away.

Saving the original tires is worthless. Tires (particularly the rubber compounds) degrade with age, regardless of use. The data I have seen suggests tires degrade rapidly after about 7 years. The battery charger is a must. If you are able to drive it, make sure it gets up to temperature so the moisture that collects evaporates.

If his intention is to save the original tires for display purposes they are not worthless. It will actually add value if the car does become a collectible.

Nope. Normal turbo wheels.

OK, so please tell me what premium YOU would pay for tires that are not safe to drive on?
