Default Ageing O2 sensor code

I was doing a random checkup on my 2001 996 turbo using Durametrics. Came across this code for an ageing oxygen sensor on bank 1. Resistance on bank 1 is approx 600 ohms and bank 2 is zero. What do you guys make of this?

First question would be how many miles on the sensor? Bosch is more coy these days about providing "replacement interval" recommendations, but a factory Bosch sensor ought to provide 100K or more miles of service.

For as relatively inexpensive as the Bosch O2 replacements are versus potential adverse consequences of the ECU getting faulty data from the O2 sensor, I'd say replace the sensor and its corresponding sensor on the other bank as a pair so that they're both operating at the same level of efficiency.

A zero ohm reading means one of two things. The sensor is dead and should be replaced or there is a break in the wiring to that sensor. You can test for both with an ohm meter.

I went ahead and ordered 2 precat and 2 postcat bosch oxygen sensors from germanautoparts.com I figured I will replace them all at once since it is such a critical part of the system. The car has 68k miles on it and I have no records showing they were ever changed. How hard are these to change out on a 996tt? I have a europipe stage 2 exhaust.

Take the rear bumper cover and hear shielding off and they are right there. The hardest part is fishing the wires up through the body and into the plug junction boxes on either side of the engine bay. Do inspect the wiring to ensure they have not been cut by rubbing on the body.

Did you ever figure this out? I have this issue even after replacing the rear right 02 sensor

Did you check the wiring for breaks with an ohm meter?
