Its official the GT2 is 700 hp. Think the 0-60 time is probably understated. Starts at almost $300k

The new GT2 RS was shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this past weekend. According to the German magazine "Sport Auto", this was the official launch. In light of this, there is remarkably little info out.

This is what makes the brand. Surprising.

I think the entire production run is already sold out so I guess the people who needed information already have it.

Anyone know why there are NACA ducts in the hood? What needs cooling that high up in the frunk area?

no one knows if they are all sold out or not yet, porsche is making "as many as production capacity allows". no dealers really even know how many they are getting. assume production will be limited by demand/price, as not many people out there willing to pay +$300k for a 911.

same as 991 gt3rs and 918 spyder, 325 width, 21" rims.

is for brake cooling. doesn't use the air guides on suspension arms anymore. less drag to do it this way.

Thanks. That makes sense. Must be some fancy ducting under there

I'm more curious as to where the value of the 997 GT2 RS is heading. Probably the sky...

Now we are going to see people flipping preorder allocations for big money. These will be 700-800k. Wont be shocked if I see 1 mil. Porsche knows exactly what they are doing.

That is the best looking 911 I have ever seen. I just dont like the font they use on the door panel.

It seems the new GT3RS is getting the same treatment.

Regardless if they are sold out or not, this kind of thing makes the brand. You make the biggest splash possible - at every product launch. Porsche had 2 vids and surprisingly little else. Don't get it. The last GT2RS launch at Goodwood 7 years ago was much bigger. So was the R's launch at Geneva 1 1/2 yrs ago and the other launches in between.

But I'm sure there is some reason. As Atrox aptly put it:

Funny, I really liked the looks of the (original) 991 GT3 RS. There's too much in the way of scoops n things and black accents going on here IMO. But that's just me.

This thing also gets intercooler water injection for boost cooling. Has a water tank in the front.
