On a side note some kids in a WRX were giving me some kind of hand signal I don't understand, index and middle fingers together, like a closed peace sign or something. Google doesn't know that one either.
As a former STi driver, That's known as the Subi salute or Subaru wave. Think of it as a 2 finger wave.

This is something new for me, hence the thread. I've thought about it but never got to experience it, until now.
Do they eat donuts over there also? Haven't exactly seen a lot of donut shops in Europe :-)

Or maybe it is just the influence of decades of The Simpsons reruns on TV?

4 flashes = dude you've got a plastic bag covering your radiator
5 flashes = does it really matter, they probably wont see 5 flashes because realistically by the 3rd, they're probably already past by anyway lol

What...you mean when I'm in my Cayenne tt you still won't wave? Even though I have 996tt? Oh man...that's just wrong.

I usually give a peace sign or a quick wave to Porsche cars, and a nod to the SUV/sedan drivers if we are travelling the same direction.

Yeah lots of money here means lots of new Porsches not necessarily lots of enthusiasts. I'll still wave at older model years since it's more likely they're into it.
