First, it's a pain lying in the footwell headfirst. Headlight is a must. And T-Rex arms would help greatly. But pretty easy other wise and it cured my stuck key.

The left is the Audi part. The white plastic tumbler is much larger and the plastic is harder. The detents also feel more crisp when you turn the switch. The plastic is also more expertly molded with less injection molding marks.

Thought y'all would find it interesting. But, looks like you do get what you pay for.
Thanks for the side by side. What is the actual Audi part number on the part?

Gremlins are back- dash reset this morning after a labored start. I wonder if it's possible I didn't screw the new switch in properly and vibration over the past week of driving caused it to shake loose? I'll slide under the dash and recheck it in the meantime and check the electrical ground strap next.

How is your battery? What crank volts do you see? Don't trust the gauge put a meter on the battery. check it at the + in the engine compartment also.

It was the battery. New battery and everything's good again.

You should really have your entire charging system checked for free at Autozone. You might have a regulator/alternator issue.
