Default Manual Transmission Oil Thoughts

Did a search and it looks to me this has not really been talked about. Sorry if I missed a post.

Need to do a normal flush and fill. Tech says generally anything is good. But what might be the best to put in it? I have had real good results with Royal Purple in BMW's.

Any thoughts from the crew?

I used Liquid moly, others say DelVac, I will use Porsche next time. Porsche seems universally accepted for performance, it's just expensive.

redline 75/90 or delvac if your car has an aftermarket lsd. or delvac anyway.

I've been using Royal Purple in mine. Just as I did all my past cars.

I run redline 75w-90ns it has been excellent. I ran delvac originally and it wasn't nearly as smooth but maybe due to steel syncros in my gearbox.

Swepco or oem. Wouldn't use anything else. I remember reading a thread in another forum section here about people's experiences with different fluids and it seemed those were the two best options.

Your car's transmission has managed to reach 82K miles on I suspect the factory fluid.

My 2003 Turbo has gone 154K using the factory fluid. My 2002 Boxster 5-speed has gone over 310K miles on the factory fluid.

Why go with something else?

Porsche only recommends two fluids for the manual transmission/diff?

Why use your car your car's transmission as a test bed for other suitable fluids? Makes no sense to me.

I don't have the transmission "flushed" when the fluid is changed. The tech just drains the old fluid and puts in the new fluid. The labor charge for the Boxster is just 0.3 hour. The Turbo labor is a bit more as more things have to be removed to get at the transmission but still the labor is very low, not even an hour I think. The fluid is a bit pricey, maybe, but it is an expense that I incur only every 50K to 60K miles. And at least once the dealer service department had some left over transmission fluid from some warranty work that it gave me for $5/liter.

I use Redline 75-90NS. My car shifts much better now. 82k miles.

in the past i have used mobil1 75-90 Delvac it was ok but the factory oil was better. Im told the factory oil is Shell.

i rate redline the best (for my car anyway)
second would be factory fill.

i would never put swepco in my car. Ive seen what it does to transmissions in ferraris.

Id like to add that i had just installed factory ss with function first shift right mod.

Sorry but, you can't compare the two transmissions. if a Ferrari is in our shop it's usually for a transmission issue.
