Both are great tires. Have PS2's on our 996TT and they are comfortable, grip well, and last.

I have BFG Rival S tires on my C6Z with ~600whp and they hook (335/30 rears) well when warm. Also a comfortable tire and have taken solid abuse. I think the PS2's perform better in rain. However, you'll pay more for PS2's. I think the BFGs are the best for the $$.

If you're driving in the dry and going to track at all, consider the NT-01 too.

Also, consider the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, which is a replacement for Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Both are better than PS2, based on research.

Btw, What do you use the car for?

I think it depends on how long you plan on having the tires.

The main problem I have found and the one thing you will never seen reviewed or tested is how the tires perform after a few years (2-3) of use which for many of us is a massive part of the equation. In this regard nothing falls off harder then a Michelin as oxygen and UV starts to effect the Rubber during its lifetime. In that regard I have found Continental/Dunlop and BFG to make the best tire over the life of the rubber.

the new bfg that came out last year has a new lower load rating. I thought it was too low for our cars?

Falken RT615K+ ....
PS2 is a refined street tire but old tech
Rival S is a low load rating, the original Rival had issues with delam., suspect new rating is to discourage 911 usage...

Just installed some 245/40/18 + 315/30/18 Falken RT615K+ today, thanks to the above advice. The 245's are a tight fit but seem to perfectly fit without rubbing on my 18x8.5 ET47.

Coming from PS2's on my previous setup, I'm surprised that the ride quality and road noise of the Falkens seem pretty comparable. I'm not sure if that's just because my PS2's were pretty old and worn out or what. I'm really happy and excited so far.

Please post some pics when you have a moment, I'm considering the same exact move next time around. Are you running 11 or 12" rears?

Here are a few quick pics I took. My rears are 18x12 ET45 (same as GT2 specs), and alignment is approx. factory spec.

Car looks sweet. Be sure to check the rears are not rubbing on the inside of the rear wheel liner.

continue to be impressed by the improvement in grip for new RT615K+ vs old RT615K...although they say the carcass hasn't changed, I'm seeing a better wear pattern across the tire, albeit wearing quicker overall; might be 'enjoying' this set more however
