2002 996tt roller for sale
Folks -
my engine died and insurance is buying me out.
I know some want a 2002 996tt roller for various reasons including an LS conversion. Insurance made me offers both with and without keeping the car. Engine needs rebuild with estimate of 35k. Everything else is mechanically correct including trans. Cosmetically very good except there is some minor parking lot scrape damage to the passenger side - estimated at 3000 to fix. The wheels were refurbed 2 months prior to engine problem. The sunroof was repaired. Spoiler works. Interior is near perfect with no damage, just wear. New stereo with BT, touchscreen etc etc.
I am not trying to make a mint and likely it just is not worth it to me, but I will try to keep this car on the road. Make an offer - quick - deciding by Friday April 21. If you are under 10k, do not bother - it will be much more than that to break even plus hassle.

He wants 14+ at 70k miles and salvage title. I told him no thanks. I already bought the red 996tt to 997tt shell with original motor and cluster w/25k miles for less than what he wants. While mine is a clear title as well. Granted it'll show it went through auction but, to me that has a lot more value than salvage. Insurance will cover a blown motor car. Just depends how you tell them it. I see plenty of customers do it at our shop. Not that I agree with it but, I can't really give my opinion. Some states are a lot easier than others to do this.

How would you tell this to the insurance company to get them to cover it?

Insurance doesn't cover wear/tear and a good company/adjuster will tell the diff.
Remember insurance fraud is a felony.

Engine damage would/should only be covered by insurance due to collision (i.e. running over something and damaging the case causing the oil to come out and seize the motor), or flood/hydrolock.

That's exactly what I was saying. It all depends how you said the engine was damaged. I see a lot of clients lie to their insurance companies but, I'm not at liberty to say the truth. You clearly mistook my statement. I was just giving a opinion as to how this can be a insurance claim of a blown motor. It's obvious that insurance doesn't cover mechanical failures due to wear or abuse.
