Default 5w50M1 at Napa for $5.80 qt

Saw this over on 6SO and couldn't believe it.
Just online order ahead from your Napa and pick it up.
https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/MOR122075

That is much cheaper than the $52 deal I normally get from Amazon.

Mobil has the $12 rabate going too, so the net price is $3.80.

Nice, they do the rebate quite often. Check comes back pretty quick too. Guess I'm buying more oil. Thanks

Over the past 2-3 years, I've seen Napa run this sale every 3-4 months. The Mobil rebate, I've seen offered once per year. It's great when you can double-dip.

Thanks for sharing this, been wanting to use 5w50 for my next oil change - Are you guys in the more northerly states running straight 5w50 or doing a 50/50 mix with 0w40? I'm in Maine, only drive the non-winter months (usually April-November), and don't run the car on the track. The car may see the occasional below 32°F startup though.

Same as you......car only used March-October. I run straight 100% 5W50. See my Blackstone reports in the 991 Forum.

i'm also a 5/50 M1 convert. changed it yesterday and also got it on amazon for 6 per qt in boxes of six. the price went up a day later to 52 a case! so i saved 4 bucks lol

the car is *happier* ( and quieter ) running the heavier oil, particularly in summer out here when it's regularly over 100 degrees outside.

well,

garaged occasional spirited driver,

car never sees 100 degrees nor does it see below 32 ish..

so the question is: stick with 0w-40 or move up to the 5w-50..

both are on sale currently.

Thanks again too, $96 back on 40 quarts makes it $135.60 total.

After reading Mobil site it looks like you'd better buy it 10 quarts at a time to get the most out of the rebate details.

Add $8 a filter and that's $41.90 for a 10 quart oil change leaving some for topping up.
