Default Pressure Tester

I have a coolant leak that I cant figure out. What Pressure Tester do you guys recommend? Do our cars need a special adapter?

I am a newbie.

Thank you in advance!

i may be speaking out of turn here..?

but i don't think you can "pressure test" for a coolant leak? since the system IS sealed/pressurized!. the pressure test is to source vacuum leaks/boost issues mostly.

also, if there is no "noticeable" leak from the rads ( though common pinhole leaks are hard to actually "see" ) then check your expansion tank for "yellowing" as they get old and hairline cracks are a very common occurrence and that could well the source of your coolant leak.

It is my front left Radiator area. I have not been able to find exactly where it is leaking when idling up to temp in my driveway. If I go for a drive and stop, I can see it dripping. I replaced the hoses and still didnt fix. I was hoping I can give it PSI with a pressure tester to help diagnose. Am I doing something wrong?

if it comes from the front left area you have narrowed it down to either hoses or the radiator itself. if you have replaced the hoses the next thing would be the radiator. fairly simple

The radiators are brand new. Maybe I did something wrong when I replaced or I received one with a hole. I am fairly certain it is a hose even though I replaced them. I will try again I guess. If not I will have to take it to the shop

if you just replaced them and you have a leak?! i'd begin the entire process anew!

obviously the connection of the hoses to the rads themselves is the first place to look! GL w it.

Could be a bad O-Ring on the radiator side of the hose(s) or the clip isn't fully grabbing the ears of the hose. A set of O-Rings from the hardware store won't set you back more than $1.

I would also ditch the factory spring clamps for tradition worm-gear clamps.

You are looking for something like this to pressurize the system. I would think that it would work on a 996tt, but a little more research will yield that answer.
