I'd guess speaker crossovers but I'm not into car audio...

They are cross overs, they take a single source audio and make 2 to 3 channels for tweeters/subs.

think of it as a filter that sends the right sound frequency to the right speaker. Low bass to sub instead of low bass to tweeter.

Ask a car audio shop before you do anything or throw them away. Focal Utopia headphones go for $3999.

Yes, they are speaker crossovers. Back when I used to care about this sort of stuff Focal was a highend brand.

got it, thanks fellows. they're hooked up and working, so wont be removing them. just had no clue what they were. Most of the audio work was done by AI designs out of NY. I would never spend that kind of money but I'm fine with the PO doing it.

Looks like a 3-way Focal set, definitely not cheap.

You have some VERY nice speakers in there. Enjoy. (as said before... they are passive crossovers for a component set of Focal speakers)

Personally thats the best way to assign frequencies to the speakers attached! Provides a much better ambience. They are pretty beefy to handle the power amp output! The second good thing is it isolates the variable speaker impedances of multiple speakers to one impedance seen by the power amps. My opinion keep them
