Is the 2 cones you drive through (near turn 2 and coming out of the back prior to the stands) a Prorformance thing or is the track dicey outside of those areas? I haven't been back to Pacific in quite some time but the winter days are fun, so I'm curious about the asphalt status.

The cones are a Proformance thing when they're running the school.
Typically they get moved around a little by drivers clipping them, this day they exploded on contact due to the cold.

The areas outside the cones are all fine, other than some dust/debris that can be a little slick. The lack of runoff at Pacific is the dicey part.

If you used to go to Pacific/SIR a ways back, the track is a lot better versus 10 years ago, come on back!

Very cool to see a recent video/track day on Pacific Raceway. My last one, (I do motorcycle track days here and the Ridge) was last August.

I remember turn 3a,3b were terrible asphalt wise, the rest of it was not too bad.

The Ridge is an absolute gem and I can only imagine how fun it would be in my car.

Still waiting to get my coolant lines pinned.

For reference my best lap time at Pacific is 1.37 and 1.59 at the Ridge (on a Kawasaki ZX10R).

3a/b is still a little rough but nothing that unsettles the car.

I did my lines last year while trans was out for a clutch and rebuild, not too hard if wrench a fair amount.

You could wax that time at Pacific in your turbo with R comps, springs/struts and a little more neg camber. Bring it out, there's some dates coming up soon!

damn.. i miss pacific raceways. I havent done it in the Turbo yet but did it a buncha times in my old STI..

those cones at the entry of 2.. from what I've been told they're there to limit entry speed by forcing you to take the school line!

I will definitely go this late spring/summer!

It's a great track where I see lots of cars with BC plates, come on down!

Turn 2 has 2 opinions on line, diving inside or staying on the outside carrying more speed. The cones are usually shot off track in this area after a few laps on a busy day anyway, leaving you with either more freedom or an obstacle.
You can come into this area at over 150 so it's good to have a couple very obvious markers for some.

I do the Proformance days but am open to other's too. The Proformance events are well run and the 4 passing zones are good for keeping most drivers paying attention.
Wish I would have gone yesterday, didn't think it was going to stay dry out.
I'll be out there for the first half the day on the 21st if the weather is decent.

Not sure if it's still accurate, but I got a message Saturday that there are some slots available for Friday afternoon at Pacific...

Yea, I've run a couple times with the test/tune sessions.
Not sure which ones these are but was to run with some of the Sovereign cars.
I book through Donna/Proformance almost exclusively.
Look forward to seeing ya!
