Anyone skip their unicorn?

Anyone skip their unicorn?
Have any of you guys thrown caution to the wind and given up on your color combination to get a well documented car instead of the color combo you dreamed of? Or did you just wait it out until your unicorn reared its fantastic head?

Yeah, I went with a color that wasn't my first choice because of a great price and local car, all stock with records and no stories. The price and being local is what sealed the deal for me. Really wanted a blue or white, or green car, have a meridian metallic car. The color has really grown on me, very unique and I love it. Now I wouldn't trade it for another...

I was looking for a white one forever but came across a seal gray at an IRS auction so I settled on my color choice. It's grown on me so much that I bought a Tundra in a similar color and adopted a blue nose pit to match.... I guess I'm "all-in" on the gray.

Yes, the white Turbo was my Moby Dick. Elusive.
But Speed Yellow and Guards Red weren't that far behind on my 'want' list, so I didn't feel I'd given up that much. Truth be told, I wanted a cab more than a coupe. But there's another compromise, as everything on the market seemed to be silver, and I have a silver allergy.
Oh, and my car had virtually no documentation and a lot of owners, but it's mechanically near-perfect anyway.

Hold out for one with records that is a color you like.
I'm willing to settle for a well kept car over color unless it's something I want to have forever.
From the sounds of how many people are looking for a rare color, you'd better be ready to fly and buy.
Wrap?

I was looking for black, but I test drove a midnight blue and the rest is history. Finding the unicorn depends on patience and being ready to purchase immediately when it's on the market. Not many color combos offered so most of the time your unicorn is several others as well.
I know I didn't want grey, silver, red, or yellow so the midnight blue became my new favorite. I would have rather had black interior as the grey wasn't my first choice either. In the end the cars history and the guy selling convinced me if I didn't buy I would regret it.

Nope, I was doing my morning classified lurking and found a 2002 Carrara white on black with billet K16s, fresh pss10s, and appropriate supporting mods. I text the seller on the way to work at like 6am and picked it up a week or so later. The car has a little engine history (replaced) that will prevent it from being a purists trophy but the clean body, interior, and upgrades made it a no brainer for me. The only other color on my radar was guards red on black but they seem to command quite the premium when they pop up.
