Default Recovering metropol blue steering wheel

Hi all, I am going to have my metropol wheel recovered and am looking for ideas or pictures.

Has anyone ever done alcantara steering wheel on a metropol interior? Would it look weird next to a dark blue airbag that is metropol blue? Black alcantara or a blue to match? Or just retrim in factory spec, nothing fancy? As you can tell, I am having trouble deciding what way to go.

Looking for pics, experience or suggestions.

Thanks,
Connor

Contact Dallas Custom Steering wheel. He can do anything you want and the work is outstanding.

Yup, that is who I was planning on using. Just trying to decide how I want it done. Thanks.

Cool. When I was doing mine (different layout than yours) he was able to send me pictures with ideas. Just a thought.

If you aren't completely sold on alcantara, I saw a for sale ad recently that had sea blue int. It had a leather wheel with satin silver inserts where they usually put carbon or wood. It looked really cool and classy with the blue, I havent seen another like it. The ad has been taken down, sorry no pic.

I'd suggest staying with Metropol Blue (MB), and staying away from Alcantara.

I have a MB interior, and decided on a smaller diameter/thicker steering wheel in matching MB leather (with MB leather air bag cover).

That interior color is awesome and Dock's steering wheel looks great.

Something else to consider, unless you wear gloves when you drive the leather will wear better and longer. Oils from your hands are hard on it. It feels to me like it takes a tighter grip on the wheel, of course with the right glove it has a great feel, IMO of course

I do not have a MB interior but have a grey interior and installed a "black" alcantara steering wheel (with grey stitching and grey 12 o'clock marker) and traded my grey airbag cover by a black leather airbag cover.
Also changed shifting **** and hand brake cover.
My final mod was to paint the center console same color (black) as the front console.
I am very happy on how it has turned out and the combination of black and grey looks very nice.
Used DCT Motorsports as Donald in Dallas did not have the original black leather airbag cover.

Stay away from alcantara, wears terribly. Dct and Dallas both do great work.
