Durametric scanner, where to buy?
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of picking up a durametric or equivalent scanner that can connect to the OBD port. I searched Ebay and Amazon, but could not find a scanner/reader called "Durametric."
Can someone kindly point me in the direction of where to buy one, or can one of the following work? I would like to find out what engine codes the computer may be throwing (i.e. I think I have a boost leak as I'm only getting 0.4-0.5 bar boost and I want to see if the scanner can give me anything insightful).

No worries! I have/like the Professional unit, but most can get by with the enthusiast version, particularly if only using on 996 or older which have limited coding abilities vs 997/Cayenne and newer...good tools

Any advantages the Durametric can do over the Autel Autolink? Kind of a big price difference between the two. Main purpose would be to read/clear CELs, read any hidden engine codes, etc...

Just FYI the enthusiast version is limited in its ability to code the ECU. In Durametric's website the explain why. The professional version has coding ability. But its way more expensive. I picked up a pro version through another website. For a 996, there are limited coding abilities, so you are not at as much at a disadvantage relative to newer Porsche models. The features of the Durametric increase with each successive model version. Too bad you're up in Washington. If you're in California ever, I can scan you're car for free. The Professional version has unlimited vins.

The Durametric doesn't just read and reset codes like many other readers. It allow you to read the over rev history, turn on and off fans, ABS pumps, individual cylinder injectors, read cam angles, reset air bag lights and so much more. i have a Durametric and a Cobb. I use them both.
