No shame in getting yourself back on the road!
JB works well in situations like this, hopefully the JB Weld helps too

well just happened to me yesterday. At the dealership now. Still trying to figure it out but looks like the engine will have to be dropped. Not excited at all over this.

Getting quote for the coolant items
-clutch
-and asked if I should do anything else while the engine is out.

Can't wait ugh

Yea, things that keep a car running but don't improve performance are never exciting to spend on.
There are a few threads about what else to consider while it is out.

dealership just called in the nipple under the intake in the back of the engine. figure 35 hours of labor to drop the motor etc and 1600 in parts so some where in the 7-8k range. waiting on final estimate.

sound about right?
they will check the clutch as well but thinking just do that anyway. just under 50k miles.

35 hours of labor to drop the engine? That includes welding the coolant pipes, right?

35 hours??? Someone in their shop needs to make a few boat payments. Thats a crazy amount of time to quote.

35 hours to drop engine change all coolant hoses and pipes etc. using all Porsche parts. About 1600 bucks in parts. Will look at the clutch too

For 7-8k, I would hope that includes the clutch replacement as well. If not, would suggest going elsewhere.

How many hours should be normal to drop and replace all coolant lines etc?

A day to take it apart, a couple to fix/replace stuff and another day to put it back is 32 hours, your 35 hour estimate is close. I'd replace the clutch, flywheel, slave, accumulator, reservoir, mtr mounts, trans mount, hoses, fuel filter, plugs, coils, etc. while you're there, car needs that stuff and car is already apart so shouldn't add much time.

Without getting into the weld vs pinning debate, quote is high. If welding it would take around 4hrs (make sure welder is competent). I was recently quoted around 4K for this work at a nearby Indy P speed shop. Can't hurt to get a quote from a local Indy shop.
