Several of the 'usual suspects' from another Porsche forum are already meeting up at Tail of the Dragon country the weekend of Oct 28-30. Its been a 10 year tradition for some of us.
The group is staying at Fontana Lodge (in the heart of the mountain roads).
It is a low key and very informal gathering with some wives coming (they usually hang around the lodge but some go out driving) and some guys fly solo.
We generally arrive during the afternoon on Friday (pleanty of mountain seat time just getting there) ... hang out Friday night. Hit the mountains on Saturday, group dinner that night and head out whenever on Sunday.
The hardcore hooligans arrive Thursday to get the extra seat time in the mountains.
Its really about the Porsche camaraderie now versus seeing who can be a F1 hero out on the roads. Scenery this time of year in this are is absolutely breathtaking.

Planning is very informal since this group has been doing this drill for years.

Early arrivals available on Thursday 27th (most arrive on Friday)
Standard arrivals on Friday 28th
Departures Sunday 30th
Where: Fontana Village
We have a rag tag metro Atlanta 996 P car group including NA and TT cars. We have had one informal Sat am get together and cruise. We are developing a lit of future event to meet up at-Petit Lemans, Atlanta Concours, Hito Head Islamd Concours and Savannah Vintage races, PCA cruises, and 10/29/16 Halloween night at Atlanta Motorsports Park.
No club, no president, no dues, just meet up for those who can...
