Default Porsche Classic radio in early 996TT?

Original head unit is nice, but missing quite a bit of a modern convince features, primarily BT for me. So, i've been looking for some solution. I'm a bit hesitant to go with double din head unit as i don't exactly like the look, but most of the single DIN unites are fugly...

So I was wondering if anyone had experience installing Porsche Classic radio in 996TT. I'll be getting one for my 993 for sure, but 996 not sure if it would even work...

This is the unit i'm talking about

A good radio tech could install the classic radio in a 996TT.

I am a fan! Would definitely consider it on mine if I had loose change laying around....

I looked into this as a cleaner alternative to the $500 denison box.

My 2 cents is you can make this work on a non MOST car, on a MOST car I think the denison or a hard wire FM transmitter unit is the only option.

that what i was wondering most vs non most.
i just know there is a new head unit in the cars not too distant future. really like the unobtrusive and more oem-like appearance of this old school radio.

That would've been cool in my 930!
The Denison is your best bet, works thru your oem head unit, works great.

To clarify, mine is not MOST. Mine is MK1 (2001). So Denison won't work.

Dension, (spell checker)

What about the Tranzit blue HF, wouldn't that work in a non most?

I believe the Tranzit blue will work in any 996TT, MOST or non-MOST. It should work on any car audio system that has FM capability and an FM antenna connector.

Was anyone able to get the Porsche Classic Radio installed in a non-most car? Just wondering what the outcome was. Interested in keeping the stock look with some added modern features.

As an "OEM-style" alternative, check this out:

https://www.bergvillfx.com/index.php...7416ub-or.html

That's what I'm running, and while not a perfect aesthetic OEM match, it's pretty darn good. Certainly better than any other aftermarket options. And it's plug-and-play for a non-MOST car with the harness they sell.

I've been happy with it, especially for the price.

Here's a lousy pic, but hopefully you get the idea:

(I also installed a GT3 center console delete at the same time)
