Default Winter wheel/tire options opinions

Time to consider the winter setup..

The Porshe winter wheel/tire pacakge for the 996Turbo is $3420 (18Jx8 ET50 and 18Jx10 ET47) Turbo Twist II

Tire rack's Package is: $2191 (18Jx 8.5 ET and 18J x10 ET 65 with a 23mm spacer) on Mille Milgia Cup 3 aka 933 Turbo twist replicas

Both have 225/40-18 and 265/35-18 tires... Porsche's Package is Dunlop and TR uses BLizzack...

Anyone know of a problem going with a 18" Carrera II wheel 18J x 8 ET 50 and 18J x 10 ET with a spacer?

Other recommendations?

THANKS!

By 18" Carrera II, I assume you mean this:

If so, it is called the 18" Carrera wheel and there is no problem using them for winter tires. The rear wheel's offset is 65 mm. I guess a 17-20 mm spacers should be no problem.

Should be fine...FYI - the Sport Techno wheels that come on the TT from factory have a non-widebody offset and so they come with spacers (I think 10mm) from factory!!

Correct. The Sport Techno rear wheel is 11" x 18" - ET63 and comes installed on the Turbo and C4S with a 17 mm spacer.

I bought a set of factory winter wheels (turbo look) from WheelEnhancements and they told me that no spacer is needed. Ran them for a few weeks without any spacer and everything seemed fine.

Are they the same Techno wheels discussed here or they are different?

Thanks.

No, they are the Turbo Look II style which is different from the Sport Techno. You must have a rear wheel of 10" x 18" - ET47. That one does not need a spacer.
