Not quite like the 993's did obviously, but just simply due to the age, design, nostalgia, etc.?

It will take a decade or more for this to happen though.
Completely agree with Carlo. The low mile unicorns will always command a higher price. That's just how all collector cars go, all else being equal. Historic cars values even in higher mile cars could go up for unique situations such as a celebrity ownership, or historic figure ie. Porsche family member owned or a race car etc. But all else being equal, the low mile car will always be more desirable. But our high mile cars (mine has 98k) definitely will go up. Take for example, back when the 356 Speedsters became desirable and collectors cars, the rest of the 356's were just looked at as something you can drive and enjoy and put miles on them un-apologetically. That went on for probably 2 decades before the 356's began to gain steam regardless of mileage. Now, good luck finding any 356 in decent order of any vintage for under 100k regardless of mileage. Yes, I know there's some out there, but now they're getting far and few. The same will happen with the 996TTs. Right now, high mile cars such as mine are considered drivers. But as they become fewer and fewer on the market and more in the hands of collectors, our "Driver's" will become a lot more collectible. My old '72 911T with 198k on the clock is perfect proof!

Rick I have to hand it to you, you have got me thinking about your sigma perspective. I have not bought in but you have me thinking.

Hehe! "Thought-provoking", like they write on the sleeves of otherwise unremarkable books

Some crazy prices and mileage. Page down to bottom. Related article on low mileage exotics.

A super low mileage GT2 in a sexy color combo just popped up on BaT. I think it is the first 996 GT2 listed there for quite some time. This is going to be good.

Very close to the build exterior and interior on my TTS except for the carbon fiber pieces. And I’m starting to get an itch for a 996 GT2.

OK, what really pisses me off is that as I'm looking for GT2 on BaT, I see a Fiat X1/9 selling currently for $11,500. I missed out on buying that exact car last year here in KC. I was the second caller, and it sold to the first caller - a guy out of Arizona. Asking price was $5,000.

autobonrun's '05 TTS is that color combo, and it is stunning in person. At Saturday morning PCA breakfasts, his car makes all the rest of the 996Turbos in the club look like also-rans.

kcattorney - I'm interested in the fact you were actively trying to buy an X19! ...This from a guy who is Alfa obsessed and still has a '74 Alfa Spider in a garage

Very cool on the Alfa Spider! They are very iconic.
As for me, I bought an X1/9 when I was 18. Great memories, but time obscures what a horrible car it was as a daily driver. But, I won't be relying on it as transport. What a neat little car though - a baby Ferrari. And you can still pick up a decent one for under $10k.
