looks great!
been thinking of doing a similar colour when I have to refurbish...subtle and classy, and no need to match the factory colour

hey rob, thx. i'm done w factory anything unless in pmna parts these are gonna look insane X by my anthracite OZ. plus I'm doing a bunch of cosmetic stuff in spring also i'll show folks what a 135k mile car looks like! lol

atrox..or anyone else.. check out the thread on 6spd and hit up the threadstarter. i think he's going to be inundated with requests when folks find out what he charged! its more like a buddy/favor. i owe this guy already for pulling this off!

i just was lucky to get in early since a few of those guys over there ( where i have some actual friends ) including the guy who is doing them ( the threadstarter ) also came to my aid to make this happen FAST! i won't/wouldn't post his name or info out of respect and i haven't asked him if its ok,.. but hit him up over there! the thread is first page.

he's really cool and.. hit him up! he's done at least two sets that i know of, and mine are being clear coated now as i just now got a text/pic! from midnight !

Wow, calipers turned out really well. Should look perfect on the car. Can't go wrong with OZ either!

looks good but I do prefer the factory red. No offence intended. I like the way it stands out and is different than regular cars which are gray.
For anyone doing this make sure you use high temp paint. The decals are available on ebay btw.
looking forward to see your mods in the spring.

we discussed that and opted for "stenciling" the "porsche" and then coats (2) of clear coat after the clear "dried" because there was concern that enough heat cycles the "decals" might crinkle/peel or otherwise prematurely give out! i trust jared who is doing these completely. this is NOT some quick shake and bake powdercoat he's done, thankfully! again, i'm told that "paint" VS "powdercoat"is an important distinction, which i was really unaware of. the powdercoat stays on thru some electromag process during application ( or whatever, someone will correct me, i'm sure..) but point is? it's supposed to be longer lasting than paint for this type of application.

but thank you dan! yes, i debated, re: the color of them, but the wheels are in anthracite, car is silver with two tone contrasts that look similar to a "fake"( sorry, but i admit it..) gt2rs ( hood/mirrors/spoiler/roof etc ) so little of my car has retained the stock look that the red calipers would actually stand out now in a strange way. the car will remain arctic/w mostly all black accents. if i do go with the TA GT 997 front, it too will be arctic but has the black lip and either black OR silver mesh screens ala the newer gt3rs look which is boss ( the front LIP is VERY low which is my major concern and i'm measuring carefully or else it's a "no go"! for the whole deal as if i destroy it in my driveway in the first week?!? what IS the point? )..

but i sure hope to be able to do it, in the meantime i'll post up some pics once the calipers are on, and if anyone wants to get at jared. the guy is super cool, and i cant say the price? let me know and i'll share his contact info etc. but i'm telling you, it;s the deal of the YEAR and I've priced this specific sh*t before!

again, thx for the kind words. cheers and merry x'mas!

yes stencil with two coats of clear coat is the way to go. I did that on my old 993turbo a few years ago.

They look great. Make sure they mask of the area under the mounting lugs as that needs to be bare metal without any paint. Also have them mask off the inside of the openings for the caliper cross bar. If they don't, you will have to spend time filing it out and will risk chipping the paint.
