Default Second Victim of the same parking block

Well I can't seem to master the fact that I need to stay far back from all parking blocks. Probably the most frustrating thing since owning my 996tt is that it sits so low. I can't even make it up my driveway with out stopping and slowly entering at an angle. Granted, my house is high up because I live on a boating canal.

So, the dreaded parking block at my office. First a piece of rebar sticking out mangles my lip. I replace the lip. I remove the rebar. Car lip now clears block for several weeks. I get distracted yesterday and pull up a little too far. The block took out what appears to be a 'dust shield'? Does anybody know what this is and what the part number is for replacement?

It does suck, took my car to get inspected and they did the same thing to mine damaging same piece. Didn't even bother to argue with them and replaced on my dime.

LOL I bet it won't be the last time I replace that or the front lip again. Oh well, the price you pay for owning a car that sits 4" off the ground.

Thanks for the diagram JP! That's what I needed

That sucks. At least it didn't crack the bumper cover. I did that to my '99 996 aero and about had a heart attack when I found out what a new aero bumpter cover cost. Luckily the body shop was able to repair the crack, and out the door it was only a $900 repair. Could've easily been pushing $3,000 if the aero bumper cover had to be replaced. Not sure what a turbo bumper cover costs - hopefully I never have to find out. Glad to see yours is minor.

I just ripped off my front spoiler by hitting a couple cones at AX. Fortunately the front spoiler is an inexpensive part (as long as you don't paint it).

It is very deceiving just how far the front extends down low on these cars. No matter how cautious I am it is always too close to the block when I park. May have to start just backing it in too.

LOL, I get distracted what can I say? I ironically I just bought another company vehicle for myself and I went with the new 2016 Ford Explorer sport. It was the fastest not luxury SUV I could find. We don't like pulling up to customers projects with 'too nice' vehicles. I didn't realize it but this thing has a very low valance for an SUV and I already took a chunk out of that LOL.

On a side note, I love the Explorer Sport. I got a Livernois tune on it and the thing screams. AWD and close to 400 wheel horse. According to Livernois it will run a low 13 second quarter but I don't drag it of course. The trans tuning they do is amazing. If you have any type if ecoboost I highly recommend their tuning.

That sucks. Mine was gone when I bought the car. Guess I should replace it.
I parked it front first too a while ago and looked back (don't we all do this?) to realize my spoiler was bent back a couple of inches from pushing into the block. I hope no one saw me doing the super speed shuffle trying to get back to the car to back it up!

That is a good way to crack the mounting ears off, or just enough to leak, the plastic radiator caps.
