thanks for all the input so far. I will make sure that whomever does the repair does both accumulator and slave cylinder.

Anyone have any recs for a good indy shop in the livermore/pleasanton area?
I may have them look at it as well

Good luck, I would venture to say a big majority on this board have been through the slave accumulator issue! I suggest that you maintain the steering fluid level, or it will overheat and cause big $$ repairs. Try washing the pentosin off the body parts under the master cylinder preserve the painted parts. Let us know when done.

There is:

SAS German Auto in Pleasanton, CA.
26 California Ave, Pleasanton, CA 94588
Phone: (925) 846-4886

I've never used this but it came highly recommended to me.

For all my Porsche servicing/repairs I use the Livermore Porsche dealer.

There's also Pacific Power Motorsports in Walnut Creek, they are small Porsche only shop. I've had them do some work on my car (exhaust install, shifter install, boost leak test, etc) and they did a great job. Eric runs the front office.

But I'm in SF, and Walnut Creek was a painful trek across the Bay Bridge, so I'm now using Junipero Serra Porsche & Merc. Also a great shop.

Good Luck.
