Not seeing many interesting, reasonably priced 996 Turbo's lately, but i'm starting to see clean/low mileage 991's, even S models, at prices less than what some owners are asking for clean/low mileage 996 turbo's...
400HP, PDK, nav & phone interfaces that don't look like they were made by fisher price.... Tempting.

^ Yeah, depreciation is a bitch. I think it's interesting that we've seen a few threads over the past month or so about 993 guys dumping their cars and jumping into 996's. No slam against the 993 - it just makes a lot of sense to cash in on the 993 market and take advantage of a market anomaly that allows you to get a better performing and more comfortable newer model and still stick a wad of cash in your pocket. You might want to let those 991's age a few more years before you jump from the 996TT. I'd say 5 years from now, the exchange rate will be much more favorable.

I had to laugh at the irony - let me know about that dude named Manuel who apparently runs in 6 speeds. 😀

Yup, never a 996 'Turbo S' model before 2005, (even though it really was just a turbo with X50 and ceramic brakes). And there's no way I'd give anything close to $57K for that hacked and abused 2003 with 60K+ miles.

An old college friend just gave up his minty 993 turbo for a brand new Cayman GT4 and a big pile of cash... I think he misses the 993 not at all.

I'm pretty sure I saw this one on Autotrader a few weeks ago for 54-52k.

Yes, hence why I am considering one. My head says 991 S, my heart says 996 or 997 turbo or gt3

If they were the same price I'd choose 991S everytime. It's an amazing car and if you haven't driven one yet, you're missing out. As you can tell I was thoroughly impressed. However, a certified used 991S is twice the price of a minty 996TT and steeply on the downslide. At this point in time, the 996TT is the clear winner here, still an absolute bargain.

Not CPO cars (nor will the TT's be CPO), but as I do pretty much all my own work, a CPO warranty isn't nearly as valuable to me as it might be to others.
