Default Rev flare on shifting (manual) 996T..

Hi folks, I am increasingly noticing a flare of revs when I shift, mainly when I am driving hard..I am guessing the clutch is showing up a problem, but any more detailed advice?

I think I may also have an accumulator leak as the clutch is very stiff after starting, only for 10 seconds or so, if the car has stood for a while. Not sure if this is related.

Otherwise it shifts well, doesnt pop out. The clutch was replaced by the PO about 10k miles ago - but work not carried out by Porsche or a specialist I have heard of..

Any advice gratefully received..cheers.

I would say clutch, if your driving it hard 10k would do it.

Yup that is a sure sign of accumulator gone bad! Is the clutch master cylinder overflowing. Telltale signs, power steering fluid low, wet around the front plastic shroud surrounding the master cylinder, and wet below the master cylinder. Is so your slave cylinder is going south and can cause engagement and dis-engagement issues!

The over rev flare sounds like clutch, but who knows lol.

Thanks chaps.

If it could be caused by accumulator/slave cylinder hopefully I can get away without the full new clutch experience?

It is my winter DD, so I will get it checked out next year!

Hopefully it will be the slave, much cheaper and easier.
