Default A few pics after cleaning it up

My 2001 996 TT, 26K miles. Have been doing a lot of reading about Opticoat and similar protective finishes so I decided to NOT try it and instead go with an old fashioned clay bar and high quality carnuba wax.

Results? I'm happy with the outcome.

black on black. but the sun was setting so between that and the trees around covered in Green leaves the reflective finish picked up traces of those colors getting to -- blue? LOL!

That's a great looking 996TT. You should be very happy with the results. Enjoy.

Really pretty car. I love the smooth lines of the 996TT, it seems to flow so well. The only thing I don't like is the rear wiper

Mine is midnight blue and in the right light can seem black.

Great color, -_-. Do you have fine scratches in the black paint? If so, how did you get those out?

fine scratches, yes unfortunately. they are still there, haven't wanted to take my random orbital to the paint. yes, I could have it paint corrected so they are removed (costing me some clear coat) or just live with it. honestly, 99% of the time I don't notice them. thinking of trying a black wax as a cover-up -- that again keeps me from having to cut into the clear coat.

What made you decide against opticoat after all your research?

Was going to try the black wax myself. Some people say it's works. Hard to find at the parts store. Will order off Amazon and let everyone how it goes.
