No way I would take a car as clean as yours out on the track to have stones tossed at it= but to each their own.

BW is mostly dirt than gravel/rock, WSIR and SOW are mainly rock/gravel.

I got a nice 4" paint scrap on my new and freshly painted GT2 front bumper from a rock coming off a car going 45MPH on the freeway.

That happened in less than 5 minutes after I picked up the car.

Damn, that would infuriate me!

In my past experience the freeway is just as bad for the front end as the track, although I haven't been to any tracks like buttonwillow with dirt/rocks/sand on the sidelines, mostly grass at the tracks I've been to. The clear bra on my 996T has done a great job of keeping the front end free of highway rock chips so far and I haven't taken this car to the track.

The only damage my car has had inflicted in my ownership came from a rock strike on the interstate that cracked the windshield. Several track days have resulted in nothing more than rubber marks that can be removed with instant detailer. However, I like my tracks to have grass runoff and not desert sand

Same here, no damage other than a chip in the windshield after 9 years of doing DEs. If you have a Porsche turbo, drive it and enjoy it. Garage queens are no fun and that shouldn't influence others..

After 2 cracked windshields from tracking. I installed some safety film from Amazon. No issues now.

However, it is likely that a more structured event would have better suited my initial track experience. It certainly would have been nice to have the instructor in the car on that initial run.
If I decide to try this again at some point, I'll likely look into your PCA suggestion. Though renting a miata for the day could be fun, too.
Just a reminder that Speed Ventures will be at Buttonwillow this Saturday the 19th running the same 13CW configuration. Sunday will NOT be running 13CW.

I am sure you will have a much better experience with SV.
