Default Durametric tool - which one?

Hey all,

I am sure you are all familiar with the durametric tool, but in case you arent, here is a link.

http://www.durametric.com/buyus.aspx

I am trying to decide which one to buy. I am pretty tech savvy, have been in IT for 15+ years, so I am comfortable programming things with a tool like this. I had a mini JCW that I heavily modified, so its not entirely new to me.

Is there a list somewhere with the information that people have gathered in regards to programming their cars? On my mini forums (NAM), we had a spreadsheet that we all contributed to.

Anyway, thanks for any help and I look forward to sharing my Porsche experience with you all. I plan to fully upgrade my car overtime, doing all work myself and I plan to document it all for some kick *** DIY threads.

There is a difference between Diagnostic and Programming. You won't be able to tap into the ECU and program the ECU.

Well, I guess I could have been better in choosing my words. I dont mean programming the ECU in terms of tuning the car, more like making changes to things like windows, daytime running lights, etc.

That functionality IS supported as described here:
