Thanks Macster,
I will check the intercooler hoses....... I was suspect of the turbo seals myself, but Tony at EPL said unlikely as they are more bulletproof than the turbo engine. Pretty sure the turbo doesn't have AOS as well, not sure if you were just relating an oil experience or saying to check it.
Thanks for the advice.

Since the car is now for sale, I thought I better post the conclusion of this thread! sorry as most people do, you forget to update once it is fixed.
So the car was overfilled with oil thus all of the smoking from residual oil in exhaust, intake, etc.. Driving it for a while cleared it all out.
At the recommendation of Chance at Stevinson, I drove the snot out of it for 50-60 miles to try and free up a stuck lifter (all parties agreed it was the most logical explanation) and what do you know, it finally quieted down.
The car has been awesome, but kids in college require the sale.
Car is for sale in classifieds if anyone is interested.
Thanks again for everyone's comments and help.

I appreciate the post, as you embarked on an ambitious journey to make a two part car whole again. Not trying to be a Dick, but with motor being out, a guess at a fix, you are reaching @ $44,500. You want to send that kiddo to college I suggest asking a more reasonable price. IMO the recent history of the car is going to hurt the price you are asking.
The fact the engine was pulled because of smoke and sat at an auction house is sketchy at best. Who pulls a motor for excess oil?
Your add does not even state any of this.

The car was bought at auction by a dealer who had the oil changed by someone less than qualified. Hardly consider that having several non enthusiast owners.
Atrox, anyone who starts off their response with "not trying to be a d*** but" usually is one. You make it sound like I took a car that was cut in half and super glued it together. Putting an engine in a 911 turbo isn't rocket science, it's actually pretty simple.
You guys know NOTHING about this car, my experience, or how it has been treated all it's life.
So reading your response one is to assume that every car that has had the engine out of it is a piece of junk? I think not.
For what it's worth, every person that has called on the car has gotten the WHOLE story on it. As far as posting that the engine was out of the car when I bought it? well that's just a quick search away. Not trying to hide anything or mislead anyone, I just don't think it has any relevance.
The fact of the matter is, the car was put together properly, has the lowest leakdown numbers I've ever seen, doesn't so much as puff a wisp of smoke, and was thoroughly checked by Chance at Stevinson Imports (authorized Porsche dealer) and given his blessing.
End of story.

Hope you get close to asking for all our values!
Nothing wrong with making a buck by taking a risk, besides this car's "story" is now on record.
Since you're familiar with R&R now, and sound confident working on it. I'd go back in and pin it, do the water hoses and vacuum lines, maybe replace the radiators and drive it for another couple weeks to validate reliability and get the top $ you're asking.
